On December 3rd, Okhna CHAO YUNTER, Chairman of the Cambodia International Cooperation and Development Agency and the ASEAN East Asia Friendship and Peace Foundation (AEAFAPF), donated a large number of COVID-19 prevention supplies from international charity institutions to Dr. Denis Laurant, the Director-general of Kantha Bopha Children’s Hospital.

Cambodian International Cooperation and Development Agency AEAFAPF’s joint advocacy received large amount of responds from many international agencies and individuals. Together they donated Covid-19 prevention supplies to Kantha Bopha Children’s Hospital, including disposable masks, portable medical service terminals interactively reached AI anti-cancer early warning system, and PCR test kits and disinfectants etc., worth in total USD $450,000.
Okhna CHAO YUNTER mentioned that many supplies have been collected through the Cambodia International Cooperation and Development Agency and AEAFAPF to support the Royal Family, the Ministry of Health and Kantha Bopha Children’s Hospital, in total over 2 million USD.

Chairman CHAO YUNTER praised Kantha Bopha Children’s Hospital’s contribution towards the welfare of children and society in Cambodia. He mentioned that under the pandemic, many countries are having the biggest public heath crisis in this century. Cambodia is still under development, Kantha Bopha Children’s hospital free and high quality of medical treatment to children really is the fortune of Cambodian children, the kindness and goodwill of the hospital and its staff.
Chairman CHAO YUNTER advocates more agencies and individuals to help Kantha Bopha Children’s hospital and engage in supporting its daily operation, meanwhile promises to continue raising funds and supply materials for the hospital.
Dr. Denis Laurant gives special thanks to AEAFAPF. He said under Chairman CHAO YUNTER’s leadership and operation, the donated supplies will benefit more healthcare workers and children. Dr. Denis Laurant also mentioned the continuous aid from Okhna CHAO YUNTER, hoping to have more agencies and individuals to participate the charity for children in Cambodia.
August 12, 2021, Okhna CHAO YUNTER donated worth about USD $350,000 supplies to Ministry of Health, the Minister Mam Bunheng received the urgent Covid-19 supplies on behalf of the Ministry. This batch of supplies was donated by Okhna CHAO YUNTER together with other charitable foundations under his operation, the part of the donation was given to Kantha Bopha Children’s hospital.
Kantha Bopha Children’s hospital was founded on November 2nd, 1992, from 2012 to 2018 spent total USD $632 million to provide free treatment to poor children in Cambodia. Currently, over 80% fund from the hospital comes from the donations of kindness and the other 20% comes from Cambodian and Swiss governments. The hospital provides free medical care for at least 15 million children since it has opened, needs at least USD $120,000/day to maintain its operations.
